Map thingy-0

People out in the world of Devast.io can and will kill you, but it will effect your karma level and increase the spawn of Ghouls and players can see your Karma from the leader board.

The karma level allows you to make the difference between peaceful or savage guys. You will start at the karma level "Angel". There an article about Savaging and Stealing.

- If you kill someone with the same karma as you, you will lose karma. Also you will appear more bad.

- If you kill someone with worse karma than you, you will win karma. Also you will appear more good

- If you lose the karma level "Angel", you can't have it again.

- If you reach the karma level "Savage", you can't change your karma level anymore.

- If you reach the karma level "Savage" you can appear on the map, as shown on the top right.

- You can't see the level of other Players if they are not in the leader board.

Kills Name Karma Icon XP

1-3 Normal Karma3 100% XP
4-5 Orange Karma2 95% XP

Hint:

The karma-system can help in some ways to estimate the intention of another player, but take some care, because it can easily lead to misinterpretation!

Don´t think a player is inevitably a good one, if his karma-level is "Angel". That´s simply because all players start like that when they (re)spawn in game.

Don´t think a player is inevitably a bad one, if his karma is not anymore "Angel", instead went to "Normal" or even "Orange"!

  • This is because a professional player has to defend himself and knows about the problem called "the first one who hits, hits hardest". So he will keep other players at safe distance, or chase them off by some warning shots. Certainly this can kill weak players and leads to unjustified bad karma unintentionally.
  • He will also attack people who block houses, because he needs (like all other players) resources from these.
  • And sometimes other players shoot at you first, but miss you. Then you shoot back and kill them, earning bad karma unjustified. So don´t take the karma level of other players as an absolute evidence.
  • Karma the devil also does not always mean that he is super evil. There are provocateurs who really want to complicate the life of one player (very vengeful players). They will try to beat this player with a hatcher or a spear, and if they die, they will attack again until this player becomes karma devil. Even so, they will continue to attack until he dies.

On the other hand, take the karma-level absolutely serious, if his head is coloured red or black. Because in these cases you can be 100% sure, that he is a savage!

Be very careful about guessing the intention of "Orange" coloured players: He can be a good one, playing for a long time, and therefore the uninteded kills have added up. But he can be a skilled savage just as well, pretending to unintenionally have killed some players for above said reasons. So as an advice don´t trust these "Orange"-players unless you have a good reason (or proofs) to do so.
