Overview[]

Battle Royale is a removed official game mode released on October 20th, 2018, and removed from the game in June 2019 to make space for the new Ghoul mode.

In this mode, players are sorted across the map and a timer is set. Players can collect weapons, drugs, and armor before the timer runs out. When this timer runs out, quadrants of the map will begin to turn red. These red squares are called toxic waves. You will slowly begin to lose health in these quadrants, forcing you to escape them into a safe place. More timers will come up, and every time they end more squares will become toxic. This forces you nearer to other devasters, and eventually all players will be pushed into a final quadrant where a deathmatch will occur.

The goal is to be the last devaster alive. Once there is one person left, the server will restart. Once you die and the timer has run out, you cannot join back again. Only the devasters that are still alive can play until the end. This mode encourages more violent play and less teaming, and devasters should make sure to kill each other in order to win the match.

Information[]

- There are more loot boxes than normal in this mode, allowing players to gather equipment for battle before the toxic waves start

- There are no ghouls

- Increased XP and resource collection is multiplied by 2

- 2-2.5x craft speed multiplier

- In the last toxic wave, all squares become black (except for the last one) and do more damage than red squares

- Less trees

- Weaker buildings

- Bandages and med kits do not work in toxic/red areas

- The next quadrants that will become red will be shown before hand on the map, and they will flash red while the timer is still counting down to make them fully toxic

- Toxic quadrants have a skull with a red square behind it as seen on the map. Being in these quadrants will warn you with a red triangle drawn around a skull

Tips[]

- In the beginning, rush to houses with good loot in them, and get the best guns and armor. Pick off weaker players in the beginning to attain better loot.

- Try not to build a base. There is a good chance that it will be overcome by toxic waves. Buildings also have less life. Bring along some bare wood doors or walls if you want them in PvP.

- Do not be reckless when fighting another player. Once you die, you can't come back. Pick your fights carefully. If there is a large team, do not PvE them unless you have much more powerful weapons

- The last quadrant can be chaotic. Stay out of the thick of the bullets and pick off weakened enemies.

- Use your map at all times to see which quadrants are going to become red. If your quadrant begins to flash red, finish what you were doing there and escape from it.

- As said above, this is a violent game mode. Alliances can be made, but only one devaster can win. Try teaming with a known friend for a bit until you both go your own paths.

Trivia[]

- The Battle Royale update was teased the day before by a special "Lapamovie" on Youtube. However, the video has since been removed for violating Youtube's Terms of Service. It featured an overview of the mode, and used certain elements such as a devaster getting a spear thrown into his head to show the violence of the mode. This may have been the reason it was removed from Youtube.
